摘要：
Rund 25% der an Typ-2-Diabetes (T2D) erkrankten Personen entwickeln eine diabetische Retinopathie (DR). Diabetesdauer und Hyperglykamiegrad spielen dabei die gro ss te Rolle, obwohl noch andere Faktoren bedeutsam erscheinen. Klinische Studien haben z.B. gezeigt, dass eine intakte beta -Zell-Funktion einen DR-protektiven Effekt hat. Der zugrundeliegende Mechanismus ist jedoch ebenso ungeklart wie der Einfluss der Insulinsensitivitat auf das DR-Risiko.
