摘要
The article discusses the purposes of theft, objects of theft (horses, money, foodstuff, commodity) and the realization of stolen goods in the context of the everyday life of the Russian province of the 18th century. Theft could be carried out by professional criminals, but much more often, however, acts of theft were accidental and unplanned. In the province, it was especially difficult to sell stolen goods or to spend money, as the news of the theft spread quickly, and the markets were strictly controlled by the local police. The buyers of illegal goods were notably absent, or there is a lack of information about them.
