15-Year Mortality after single PSA Screening

摘要：
PSA screening (screening for prostate-specific antigen) is intended to enable early detection of curable prostate cancer and reduce metastatic stages. However, this is associated with a not insignificant proportion of overdiagnosis and overtreatment. The cluster-randomized CAP study showed that a one-time screening increased the rate of diagnosed prostate cancer in the 18 subsequent months, but did not reduce mortality after 10 years. The study group is now presenting the results after 15 years.
