A LOOK AT THE SOCIAL ECONOMY: SOCIAL COMMITMENT AND ECONOMIC EFFICIENCY

The social economy is very present in our immediate environment and yet it is largely unknown to citizens in general and to institutions in particular. This paper delves into the process of construction and development of a notion that names a movement full of diversity. It is a way of doing economy that contributes to economic pluralism, with a strong impact on the generation of social and territorial cohesion, typical of an advanced society. It also delves into its strengths and potentialities that have led to the birth of a legal and institutional ecosystem favorable to the promotion of a transformative fabric in accordance with the objectives of social and environmental sustainability.
