摘要
The Argentine poet Alfonsina Storni killed herself in 1938. This fact managed to subtly penetrate the center of her work: paradoxically her suicide gave it more life, and also a patina of mystery or suspicion on which to reread her poems. This article is interested in how this data can enrich the literary experience of readers who approach Stornian writing, making it evident that its meanings are not exhausted. Specifically, the methodology of advancement through thematic nodes is used, with always interesting results in literary education. The nuclei selected to organize the literary content are travel, suffering, love as death and the desire for death, as well as the sea and death as balm. The study concludes that, although her suicidal attitude is not addressed in her work openly in first person, these thematic halos allow Alfonsina Storni's life to be brought closer to her work, and this to her life, through the interpretation of symbols and metaphors.
