摘要
After the Morenist electoral tsunami in 2018, leaders interested in recomposing the left-right ideological spectrum appeared in order to get spaces of representation in a context that needed to replace traditional political parties. Then, Eduardo Ver & aacute;stegui appears leading a radical Mexican right wing that approached, first, the idea of Hispanic recomposition claimed by the Spanish party Vox; later to the Trumpist right wing of the Republican Party in the United States and that in 2023 adds the M & eacute;xico Republicano movement to his aspiration for the independent presidential candidacy. During these years, his activism developed among the upper echelons of the Mexican and American Catholic hierarchy, historical leaders of the National Action Party and representatives of the most traditional right wing. Finally, although he did not win the candidacy, he seeks support as an unregistered candidate. Faced with this situation, questions arise about the feasibility of a Trumpist right wing in Mexico represented by Ver & aacute;stegui and its possibility of dividing the traditional Mexican right wing, generating a new conservatism; whether this pro-American Mexican right wing could be the alternative to the Hispanic Mexican right wing and whether it constitutes a pragmatic strategy of the high U.S. hierarchy. The objective of this paper is to analyze, from an approach to conservative thought and the Mexican political system, the emergence of actors that compromise the configuration of the current political offer, deploying agendas and strategies that are novel for the Mexican reality. Inscribed in the field of observation and analysis of the phenomenon of the new right wing in Latin America after the wave of leftist governments, this paper proposes as a hypothesis the emergence of a pro-American, pro-evangelical right wing that divides the conservative vote in Mexico.
