摘要
A new species Arachnocoris furtivinabis Ma, Du et Yao sp. nov. is described and illustrated, which represents the first fossil record of Arachnocoris, also the first record in the family Nabidae from Cenozoic Dominican amber. Based on the distinctive morphological characters in this new species, including antennomere II much shorter than twice of antennomere I, labial segment III slightly longer than segment II, and parameres round, it is differentiated from other species within Arachnocoris. Compared with the spider-webdwelling taxa of the extant and extinct species in Heteroptera, the evolution of predation strategies for this special group during the Miocene was discussed.
