摘要
Improvements in prosperity, health, nutrition, and standards of living is a major aspiration for all human beings and nations. The United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were formulated to combine imperatives of economic development with environmental sustainability. Formulated and accepted in 2015, the SDGs comprise 17 goals with 169 targets, to be achieved by 2030. For the field of automatic control, the IFAC is the main international organization and therefore represents the appropriate forum to engage with these goals. In this paper, we present a framework that can be used to develop systematic ways of thinking about how the automatic control community in general, and the IFAC in particular, can contribute to the progress towards the achievement of the UN SDGs.
