A Novel SCA-Based SOCP Method for Time-Varying Beamforming Optimization in RIS-Assisted MU-MISO Downlinks

摘要
Reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) is composed of large quantities of inexpensive passive elements, which is able to adjust phase and amplitude shifts to reduce the system power consumption. However, the complex coupling in the RIS-aided system makes the power minimization (PowerMin) problem more difficult when compared to conventional systems. In this paper, a three-dimensional (3D) time-varying channel model is proposed for RIS-assisted networks and a downlink expression between mobile vehicles and users is derived. Additionally, a successive convex approximation (SCA) method is provided and the transmitter beamformer and RIS phase shifts are updated simultaneously at each iteration to achieve a satisfactory numerical solution. Ultimately, the simulation model in MOSEK version 10.1.28 is utilized to verify the effectiveness of analytical results.
