摘要
Purpose of Review This review aims to comprehensively synthesize the pharmacological activities of Brevilin A, a pentacyclic triterpenoid compound derived from Betula species, across a range of disease models. The impact of Brevilin A on key signaling factors through both in vitro and in vivo studies, shedding light on its diverse therapeutic effects. Recent Findings Brevilin A exhibits a broad spectrum of pharmacological properties, including anticancer, anti-inflammatory, treatment of alopecia areata, antifibrotic, and antiviral activities. Moreover, Brevilin A has been demonstrated to enhance the anticancer properties of drugs like paclitaxel and cisplatin, leading to reversal of chemotherapy resistance and increased sensitivity. Mechanistically, Brevilin A primarily induces cell apoptosis, triggers autophagy, and disrupts signaling pathways. In Summary Brevilin A showcases multifaceted therapeutic potential, demonstrating cytotoxicity against cancer cells, cellular protection against cardiovascular and pulmonary diseases, efficacy against Alzheimer's disease, and antioxidant effects. This review provides a comprehensive overview of Brevilin A's therapeutic effects in both in vitro and in vivo models, serving as a valuable reference for future research endeavors.
