Dimensions of nature in Paulo Freire's Pedagogy of Hope: contributions to critical and humanizing environmental education

摘要
This work deals with the dimensions of nature present in Paulo Freire's work Pedagogy of Hope and its contributions to the constitution of a critical and humanizing Environmental Education. To this end, it uses Discursive Textual Analysis and the process of explaining and understanding cultural creations in order to analyze the internal constitution of the aforementioned work, written in 1992, and its production contexts. It therefore focuses on aspects that mark the third moment in Paulo Freire's life, in which the author defends himself from criticism, reframes essential categories of his thought, in addition to adopting a new paradigm. It is clear in the work that nature acquires new meanings expressed in two dimensions essential to the constitution of a critical and humanizing Environmental Education: a) nature as a world of adaptation/transformation and b) nature intertwined with culture.
