摘要
The article presents preliminary results of a study of needles from cultural layers 21 and 26 of the Ust'-Menza 2 site. These finds are published for the first time. It is important to note that the studied needles were identified in alluvial Pleistocene horizons dated about 17-20 millennia BP. In conditions of maximum glaciation, the presence of sewing equipment was one of the most important factors of survival for the inhabitants of the Transbaikalian taiga. The research was carried out with the help of equipment of the Shared Use Center of the Institute of Archaeology, the Russian Academy of Sciences. Also experimental production of a needle carried out. The purpose of this article is to introduce previously unpublished materials and research results into scientific discourse.
