The influence of Krausism on 19th century Spanish Chemistry

The influence that Krause's philosophical system had in the second half of the 19th century in Spain, through Ahrens' work, is indisputable. However, little study has been done of the imprint that Krausism left on Spanish science, especially in the debates on the constitution of matter that characterized chemistry at the end of the century. This article exposes how relevant concepts in Krausian philosophy, such as panentheism or organicism, allowed discussions on matter, force energy in terms that only under the prism of Krausism can be properly understood.
