摘要
The current study analyzes the colloidal solution of copper oxide nanoparticles (CuO NPs) produced via laser ablation by laser Nd: YAG. The laser possesses 500, 700, and 900 mJ pulse energies, operates at a 1064 nm wavelength, and produces repeated 200 pulses. This study showed the properties of the colloidal solution consisting of CuO nanoparticles that were applied onto silicon substrates by the drop-casting technique. The morphological, form, structural, and optical features of the synthesized CuO NPs were investigated using transmission electron microscope (TEM), scanning electron microscope (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and UV-vis spectroscope techniques. The XRD analysis reveals that the CuO NPs are polycrystalline and characterized by a monoclinic structure. Copper oxide nanoparticles exhibit a distribution of spherical nanoparticles with sizes ranging from 20 to 40 nm, as observed in the SEM and TEM images. The size of the nanoparticle was observed to be affected by the variation in the energy of the laser pulse, as demonstrated in SEM images. The varying laser energy led to an apparent modification within the energy band gaps of the produced samples. The UV-Vis examination results indicated that altering the laser energy of the pulse results in a shift within the energy band gap, ranging from 3.17 to 2.81 eV.The organic dye degradation efficiency of copper oxide nanoparticles has been assessed utilizing the organic dye Methylene blue. The conclusions demonstrate that all specimens suffered effective degradation utilizing CuO nanoparticles with comparable performance degrees. The color solution of the Methylene blue was noticed to disappear in 90 min of illumination when the copper oxide nanoparticles were present, which were produced using 500 mJ energy of laser pulse. The examination of copper oxide nanoparticles produced via laser energy of pulse demonstrates their potential as a very efficient component for purifying water.
