An African woman expatriating beyond the borders of her country to study, then settling in the Diaspora, Safi Fayes' journey is indicative of so many of the cohort of women who navigate within the transnational exchange flow of knowledge and creativity. The constant in Safi Fayes' intentions was her desire to show the realities of Africa and the manifestations of emigration, wherever they were. This short piece is a memorial tribute to her as a trailblazer.
