Korbball-A niche sport arrives from a small village to the capital city

Korbball is a team sport played by women in Germany. There is only one league in Hannover where women and men play together in different teams. Korbball has similarities with korfball, basketball, netball and handball. Korbball is a niche sport with regional strongholds. There are many leagues in the federal states of Bavaria, Lower Saxony, Westphalia, Bremen, and Rhineland-Palatinate. Berlin, Hamburg and Stuttgart offer teams with weekly training. The yearly highlight is the German championship held in a gymnasium. My career in korbball started in Werneck in Bavaria. I was looking for a possibility to play my favourite sport in the capital city after moving to Berlin. We established a korbball team in 2017 in Berlin with the club Berliner Turnerschaft. Since then, we organized four tournaments in the capital city.
