摘要
Virtual museums represent a significant innovation in the digital cultural heritage domain, harnessing digital technology to create immersive, interactive experiences that transcend geographical boundaries. Utilizing advanced Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) technologies, these platforms enable remote access to cultural and historical heritage, revolutionizing the way cultural artifacts are exhibited and preserved. They offer immersive experiences, enhanced interactivity through innovative entertainment like gaming, and foster interdisciplinary collaboration across various fields. Additionally, virtual museums promote cultural diversity, providing a platform for lesser-known cultures. However, the widespread adoption and development of virtual museums face challenges, including digital disparities affecting access in regions with limited internet connectivity and the need for sustainable financial models for their development and maintenance. Moreover, user experience design is crucial in ensuring meaningful cultural engagement. Despite these challenges, virtual museums hold immense potential for preserving and educating about cultural heritage. This paper reviews the current progress in the field, examining existing solutions and identifying both novel designs and areas for improvement. It also highlights the development trends, technological advancements, and the interplay of challenges and opportunities in virtual museum design. The research aims to guide the future design of virtual museums, focusing on technological implementation and enhancing user satisfaction, contributing to the field's growth and impact.
