摘要
Three new feather mite species of the genus Proterothrix Gaud, 1968 (Proctophyllodidae: Pterodectinae) are described from birds of paradise (Corvida: Paradisaeidae): Proterothrix maior sp. n. and P. modestasimilis sp. n. from the Crinkle-collared Manucode, Manucodia chalybatus (Pennant, 1781), and P. papuensis from the Lesser Bird-of-paradise, Paradisaea minor Shaw, 1809. All three species belong to the wolffi species group, in having almost closed coxal fields III in males and parallel-sided terminal cleft in females.
