摘要
Social phenomena combined with globalization have promoted changes in the constitution of society, especially when driven by technologies. One of the areas that accompany these transformations is education, which has been adapting and reinventing, moving in step with social changes, especially those related to the world of work. Given this context, this bibliographic study, with a descriptive and exploratory approach, is justified, aiming to understand the process of inclusion of Digital Information and Communication Technologies - TDIC in the context of Brazilian higher education with the presentation of the possibilities and challenges to its inclusion and use. Counting on reference authors, such as CASTELLS (2005), BELUCE et al. (2021), BELUZZO (2018), LEVY (1999) and VELOSO (2006), the study concluded that the authors unanimously recognized the growth in the use of technology in the spheres of social life, including education. At a higher level, it is understood that there is an emerging need to explore technologies as teaching strategies, aiming to access information and obtain knowledge, according to Beluce et al. [2021]. The summary of the study points to information and knowledge as protagonists in the face of social demands. However, there are challenges in adopting TDIC in light of the expectations of students who are part of different social and cultural realities.
