摘要
: This research was conducted to determine the practice level of occupational health and safety (OHS) measures based on the socio-demographic and occupational characteristics and views on OHS practices of construction site employees. A personal information form was used as a data collection tool to reveal the socio-demographic and occupational characteristics of the employees. Additionally, a scale for employees' views on the OHS practices was used to determine the practice level of OHS measures. The expressions in the scale reflected the OHS perception of the employees, as well as their satisfaction, perception of responsibility and obligation, OHS training status, employees' views on the OHS responsibility of the managers, employees' views on OHS practices of the occupational safety experts, and employees' views on the OHS attitudes of the construction site managers. The significance levels of the relationships between the socio-demographic and occupational characteristics of the employees and their views on OHS practices were determined with Spearman correlation analysis, Mann -Whitney U, Kruskal-Wallis H, and multiple comparison tests. The study results may be used as an important guide to be used in construction sites that are famous for fatal work accidents, difficult working conditions and unsafe environments, as well as a tool to provide important data to construction site studies.
