摘要
In the context of the growing importance of media and information literacy (MIL) in 21st century education, this article presents an innovative proposal on the adaptation of an MIL model specifically designed for secondary level teachers in the Dominican Republic. The article addresses the particular challenges that Dominican teachers face in implementing AMI in their pedagogical practices. Through an exhaustive review of the literature, the key components of an MIL model adapted to the needs and educational contexts of the Dominican Republic were identified. It is expected that the results of the implementation will reveal that the adaptation of the AMI model for Dominican teachers is essential for its effective implementation in the classroom. Specific recommendations are proposed to address these challenges and strengthen teacher preparation in AMI. Finally, this article contributes to the debate on the importance of MIL in Dominican education and offers guidance for the design of teacher training programs that promote greater media and information competence among educators and their students, preparing them to face the challenges and opportunities in the current media and information landscape.
