摘要
Computational physics, which is parallel to experimental and theoretical physics, plays an indispensable role in the development of contemporary physics. With the rapid development of artificial intelligence and quantum computing, computational science, especially computational physics, is fostering a significant transformation in research paradigms and urgently needs to be given high priority in the national science and technology development strategies. In recognition of this, the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) has added a new application code "A2015 Computational Physics". This article aims to briefly introduce the background and process of this new setup, and to discuss its funding implications and key research areas. Through this article, we hope to help researchers stay abreast of the latest developments in the setup of physics subject codes, update personal information in the NSFC application system, and effectively carry out project applications.
