Wisława Szymborska's Upside-Down Poetic World

In the essay, I attempt to read Wis & lstrok;awa Szymborska's well-known poem "Nothing Twice" by pointing out the new meaning she gave to Heraclitus's well-known maxim. For me, the poem is an eloquent example of how a poet can not only utter important philosophical ideas and thoughts in their discourse, but also, at the same time, unexpectedly give them a completely new meaning by confronting them with different realities of human life. This is why Szymborska's poetic philosophy is often a philosophy turned upside down: she is able to use it to highlight such aspects of various phenomena of human and natural life that escape the classical language of philosophy.
