THE CONTRIBUTIONS OF CRITICAL INTERCULTURALITY TO THE AMAZON EDUCATIONAL CONTEXT

摘要
This study addresses the importance of critical interculturality in the Amazonian educational environment. This is a theoretical research, whose objective is to analyze the contributions of authors of critical interculturality in the Amazonian educational context. The discussions indicate that for learning to happen in a meaningful way, teachers need to recognize and use the students prior knowledge about their local reality, starting from these to achieve new learning. To this end, the community's cultural knowledge must be present in the schools curriculum and pedagogical proposal.
