摘要
This paper presents a reliability analysis of the impact of extreme wind gusts on two isolated low-power wind turbines based on a permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) and a two-level Back-to-Back (BTB) electronic power converter. It is analyzed which electrical generator of different nominal power influences the impact of extreme wind gusts, such as the extreme operating gust (EOG), on the power converter. The impact of EOG gusts is evaluated on the electrical variables of the BTB converter, which are the current in a power switch and the active power in the machine side converter (MSC) for both wind turbines. For this purpose, a 3<^>2 factorial design is proposed to analyze the impact of EOG gusts on the electrical variables of the BTB converter. For this study, the 2018 wind database corresponding to the physical weather station located at the site of La Ventosa, Oaxaca, Mexico was used. The simulation of this system was developed using the PSIM (R) software facilities. Finally, the results of the study are useful to determinate the greatest impact of EOG gusts on power converters of wind turbines.
