摘要
Little has been discussed about the knowledge necessary for the training of the coach, particularly in football, this may be a consequence of a tradition that considers technical -tactical training and physical preparation as central reflections. The research is born from the following question: what knowledge is necessary for the training of the football coach? As well as discussing how this knowledge is mobilized and used by the coach. The objective is to analyze which knowledge has been mobilized and used in their professional daily life. In this way, the study used field research, having as a tool the narrative interview, which took place with the football coach of the Esp & iacute;rito Santo Futebol Clube. The results will be presented in thematic categories. It was identified that, among Brazilian clubs, it is common for coaches to be in charge of the teams from football, but that in the current scenario, academic training coaches have been successful. When analyzing the professional trajectory of the coaches, it is noticed that the physical education professionals were inserted in the football clubs as physical trainers, and with the passage of time they assumed the position of coach. The coach must maintain a balanced relationship of training experiences coming from football, with academic training. Thus, we can say that the knowledge necessary for the formation of the coach of the football modality, are the oral, experiential, curricular, pedagogical, technical and affective knowledge and that they are mobilized for the formation of autonomous and efficient athletes.
