Background. Physical activity plays a critical role in the prevention of chronic diseases. However, office workers often lack adequate physical activity. Therefore, a digital physical activity program designed specifically for this target group has been developed, which can be carried out at the workplace. The program includes weekly video exercises with informative and motivational aspects based on the model of physical activity-related health competence. In this study, we analyzed the reasons for participating in a physical activity program and identified potential barriers from the users' perspective. The aim of the study is to evaluate and adapt the program based on the results. Study design and research methods. Using guided interviews, 11 people from the intervention group (5 dropouts and 6 completers; mean age 49 +/- 8 years) were interviewed about their perceptions of the physical activity program. The guideline included questions about physical activity in everyday (working) life, the process and evaluation of the physical activity program. The evaluation was carried out using Kuckartz' structured qualitative content analysis. Results. The physical activity program received positive evaluations from most respondents, particularly the short videos, each of which included an exercise and explanation. The design of the program was a motivating factor for participation, while barriers included the office environment, concerns regarding reactions from colleagues, and perceived attitudes of their supervisors. Participation ceased due to personal or work-related reasons such as additional work or a separate training program. Participants reported greater awareness of the importance of exercise and the adaptation of suitable individual exercises into their daily routines as a result of the program. Conclusion. According to the perspective of participants, there is a requirement for more physical activity in the workplace. Nonetheless, effective execution requires support from organizations (e.g., companies) and colleagues, as well as the ability to adapt the program to their own work situation.
