Climate change caused by mankind has long been a reality and the effects are now being felt worldwide in the form of extreme weather events. Estimates suggest that 1-5% of all greenhouse gases worldwide are produced in the medical sector. Gastroenterological endoscopy departments are among the largest drivers of CO2 emissions.
