摘要
Nitrogen-doped carbon materials have gained significant attention for energy storage. High-capacity and stable electrode materials are crucial for supercapacitors. Nitrogen doping within carbon structures introduces more important active sites for electrochemical reactions, while the tunable pore structure of carbon materials enhances the ion transfer during electrochemical processes. Nitrogen-doped carbon materials have emerged as an excellent choice for developing electrodes in supercapacitors. This work critically examines the formation of nitrogen in the carbon framework, to provide a comprehensive review of the impact of nitrogen doping on the physical-chemical structure and electrochemical performance of carbon materials. Moreover, it summarizes various design principles and preparation methods for nitrogen-doped carbon materials specifically tailored for supercapacitor applications. Lastly, the review envisions the prospects for developing environmentally friendly and high-performance nitrogen-doped carbon electrodes.
