摘要
The twin-wrap scroll structure can effectively increase the suction flowrate of the scroll compressor, but it also has shortcomings such as a small internal volume ratio and a small area for designing the discharge port. With the aim of solving this problem, a new type of asymmetric twin-wrap for the scroll compressor is proposed in this study. A design method for generating twin-wrap profiles is obtained based on the midline method, and its geometric model is also established. The gas flow field in working chambers of this twin-wrap is studied by using three dimensional numerical simulations, and its internal flow field is compared with that of the existing twin-wrap scroll compressor. The results show that the proposed asymmetric twin-wrap can effectively increase the discharge volume and internal volume ratio, and enlarge the area for designing the discharge port; so that the corresponding scroll compressor has better working performance. © 2021, Science Press.
