摘要
In this letter, we investigate an ambient backscatter communications (ABC) system utilizing the information transmission time uncertainty embedded in the transmitter's modulation scheme to achieve covert transmission. We analytically derive the closed-form expressions of minimum detection error probability and transmission outage probability. In order to achieve a covertness-enhancing design, we maximize the minimum detection error probability under an effective transmission rate requirement by joint reflection probability and coefficient optimization. To solve this complex two-dimensional problem, we degrade it to a one-dimensional one by mathematical proof. Numerical results validate our analysis and the superiority of the proposed scheme compared with the benchmark.
