摘要
This paper presents a comprehensive analysis of a self-injection-coupled quadrature oscillator (SIC-QOSC) consisting of the oscillation amplitude and the phase error for the first time. Besides, this paper proposes a complete analysis of the injection current of the SIC-QOSC and provides the closed-form expression to describe it for the first time, too. Considering the appropriate expression of the injection current, this paper extracts the current's harmonics used to obtain the SIC-QOSC's oscillation amplitude and phase error. Using the presented analysis, designers can understand the design procedure of SIC-QOSC. This paper compares the analytical results with the appropriate simulations in the TSMC 0.18 mu m CMOS process to evaluate the validity and accuracy of the analysis. The comparisons show good agreements between the analytical and the simulated results.
