Citizenship education means to develop in the individual the necessary competences to grasp or perceive social problems as their own. This research work presents one of the results of the research project "Citizenship education and civic education in the current Cuban school", associated to the Program: "Problems of the Cuban educational system. Development perspectives". The objective of the research was to propose a system of educational activities, of multifactorial and multidimensional character, for the development of civics from citizenship education in schoolchildren of the Jose Ramon Leon Basic Secondary School, in Santa Clara, Villa Clara province, Cuba. In this sense, different directions and ways were defined for the implementation of the activities. In the proposal, qualitative and quantitative methodology were integrated, which allowed the conception of the result and its socialization in different events, methodological and scientific spaces. Theoretical and empirical methods were used to determine the inadequacies in terms of citizenship behavior in schoolchildren. The implementation of the system of educational activities favored the development of knowledge, skills and attitudes that contributed to the development of civility through citizenship education, in basic secondary school.
