Nuclear astrophysics is an interdiscipiinary research Held that integrates nuclear physics and astrophysccs. The ultimate goal of nudear astrophysics Is to under¬stand how nudear processes generate the energy of stars over their iifeimes and, in doing so,synthesize heaveer eeements from the primordaal hydrogen and heiium in the big bang wlich lead to the expanding universe. It mainly aims at study of the origin of eeements and how nudear processes affect the evoluion and fate of stars in the universe. In order to meet the need of the nudear astrophysccs experiment, a low energy, high stablitty,high-current and high-vohage acceeerator was required to carry out the related nudear astrophysccs experiments by direct measurement method under the uttra-low background envrronments. A high-current and high-voltage accelerator was developed by China Insitute of Atomdc Energy and Insitute of Modern Physics for the under¬ground laboratory of Jinping Mountain. The hardware structure of the accelerator control system adopted the dsstributed control system based on PLC. The PROFIBUS Held between the main frame and extended frame in PLC control system. Industrial ethernet was used for data communication between the field control layer and the operation layer. The control system software adopted the distributed control framework based on EPICS cHents/server mode,which is composed of interface module OPI for cHents,input/output control module IOC for server and channel access module CA. The operaiion monitoring software with the interaciive con¬trol interface was developed wkh EPICS coniiguraiion software. There are main control window,vaccum system window,safety interlock setiing window,and ion source win: dows. The parameters of accelerator can be set and displayed easily. The combinaiion of hardware and software proteciion was adopted to ensure the accelerators reliability.A complete safety interlock system was installed to ensure the safety of equipment and personnel. The problem of strong interference caused by high-voltage sparks ss taking a seHes of measures, for example reasonable grounding mode, adding high performance Hers and proteciive devke for the power supply system of control system and equip: ment,wiing fautt treatment program and so on. At present, the accelerator has run for over 3 500 h and some important nuclear astrophyskal experiments have been carHed out successfully. © 2022 Atomic Energy Press. All rights reserved.
