摘要
The first molars usually erupt in the 6th year of a child's life. Parallel to the eruption of the first molars, the front incisors erupt. Although tooth decay is on the decline in Germany, scientists are observing another phenomenon with multifactorial causes: molar incisor hypomineralization (MIH). This is a malformation (hypomineralization) of the tooth enamel due to a lack of calcium and phosphorus 1 . In the following, we show patients with MIH-affected teeth, primarily six-year molars, which were extracted in the course of non-sustainability. Orthodontic gap closure was performed using conventional treatment methods (e. g. reciprocally, headgear, transpalatal arch).
