摘要：
Metabolic surgery, a bariatric surgery performed primarily for controlling type 2 diabetes ( T2DM), has proven effective in allowing T2DM remission, preventing micro- and macrovascular complications, and reducing mortality. Although this effect is conditional on recent-onset diabetes, the French health authority has validated metabolic surgery for subjects with grade I obesity. Nevertheless, in practice, metabolic surgery indications are being reconsidered with the advent of GLP-1 receptor analogs.
