摘要
Peak carbon dioxide emissions and carbon neutrality are essential for China's sustainable, highquality growth. Based on a sample of A-share manufacturing companies in China from 2010 to 2021, this paper investigates the relationship between directors' foreign experiences (Dfe), corporate green innovation and corporate carbon emissions. The study finds that, companies with executives who have foreign experiences can significantly reduce corporate carbon emissions. Corporate green innovation plays a mediating role in the process of the influence of directors' foreign experiences on corporate carbon emissions. Heterogeneity analysis finds that the reduction of corporate carbon emissions caused by Dfe is more significant in state-owned enterprises.
