摘要
A series of new imine derivatives 2-(6H-indolo[2,3-b]quinoxalin-6-yl)-1-phenylethan-1-ones was synthesized by various methods in good yields and characterized through IR, NMR and Mass spectral analysis. Some compounds were screened for their in vitro antimicrobial activity against five bacterial and one fungal pathogens. Compound 4a showed greater efficiency than Rivanol against gram-negative bacteria Escherichia coli and Proteus Vulgaris and a fungal strain of Candida albicans.
