摘要
In product development, it has become necessary to reach higher levels of maturity earlier and faster under the well-known cost pressure. Iterative processes set limits that need to be overcome. We achieve a natural consistency in component design and optimisation with the approach of controlling the evaluation process from the CAD geometry as a master model. This has significant advantages, such as seamless availability of the CAD model without the step of a re-design after a simulation loop. In addition, the process shown allows for almost unlimited possibilities of shape and topology changes through the CATIA empowerment Fast Concept Modeller. With this technology, a greater depth of parameters becomes accessible, whereby better results are achieved with regard to structural performance. Weight savings of approx. 30% - 50% in an early design phase and up to 10% in a late development phase with simultaneous reduction of e.g. material costs have been confirmed by numerous examples. An implementation of such a process on a product or simulation management platform (e. g. our CAIQ SIMWORX) also offers further efficiency potentials in the design process. © 2022 the authors.
