In order to scientifically determine the traffic management measures of mixed traffic sections, it is necessary to quantitatively analyze the safety and efficiency characteristics of mixed traffic flow, which includes exploring the main influencing factors and changing rules of traffic safety and efficiency. This paper took the mixed traffic flow on the mixed road section as the research object, and used video recognition to obtain the trajectory of motor vehicles and nonmotor vehicles. The traffic flow operation characteristics were analyzed with the number of traffic conflicts as the safety index and the traffic specific power as the efficiency index. By constructing the stepwise regression model, the main influencing factors of the running state of the mixed traffic flow were determined. The change point theory was introduced to analyze the change trend and state change point of traffic safety and efficiency, and on this basis, the traffic improvement measures were put forward. The results show that the characteristics of mixed traffic flow mainly affect the traffic efficiency of the mixed road section, the characteristics of non-motorized traffic flow and road conditions mainly affect the traffic safety status. The critical non-motorized vehicle permeability of the road sections with the actual operation management level of secondary trunk road and branch road is 0.5 and 0.6, respectively. Before reaching this threshold, the increase of non-motorized vehicle permeability will lead to an increase in the number of traffic conflicts and a rapid decline in traffic efficiency. The recommended speed limit for motor vehicles in the non-mixed road section is 25 km/h, at which the traffic safety and traffic efficiency can reach the maximum. The analysis method used clarifies the influencing factors and changing rules of the operation state of mixed traffic flow, and provides the basis for the planning and management of mixed traffic flow.
