Paraxial propagation properties of a Laguerre higher order cosh-Gaussian beam passing through a chiral medium

摘要
In this work, we present the evolution characteristics of a Laguerre higher-order cosh- Gaussian beam (LHOchGB) through a chiral medium. Analytical expressions for a LHOchGB propagating in a chiral medium under consideration are derived based on the Huygens-Fresnel integral. Numerical examples are presented to illustrate the evolution properties of the LHOchGB through the chiral medium. Results show that the spatial characteristics of the LHOchGB in the chiral medium are affected by the chiral factor of the medium and the initial beam parameter. The fields of optical sorting and optical manipulation can benefit from the potential applications of the results obtained in this work.
