Two step forwards - and some caveats. The Spanish constitutional amendment on the rights of persons with disabilities in the light of international human rights standards

This piece assesses article 49 of the Spanish constitution - both in its original and recently reformed text - in the light of the standards of the International Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. In this sense, it introduces the main traits of the Convention, and it compares the approach and commitments stemming from that instrument with the original and new article 49, offering some conclusion about the constitutional amendment.
