A technique has been developed and the damping decrement of oscillations of a pendulum with bluff bodies - a plate and a ball in water fog under atmospheric conditions close to standard has been experimentally studied. It has been found that at a high shear rate of fog, its viscosity is close to that of pure air. At a speed of less than 10−4 m×s−1, the viscosity of the fog becomes significantly (tens of times) higher than the viscosity of air, that is, the fog exhibits the properties of a non-Newtonian fluid. Numerical verification of the suitability of the electrostatic mechanism for describing the non-Newtonian behavior of viscosity has been performed. © 2022 Elsevier B.V.
