THE CASE OF MITSUI MAIN BUILDING BLOCK REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT PART 3: THE FAÇADE DESIGN PROCESS OF THE TOWER PART IN NIHONBASHI MITSUI TOWER 1

This paper reported on the design of skyscrapers in the “Conservation Integrated Redevelopment Plan” for preserving previously unreported historic buildings and constructing skyscrapers. In particular, we focused on the façade design of the skyscraper, which greatly impacts the cityscape, and reported the design process and planning intention from the initial plan to the realization plan. In the case of the Mitsui Main Building block redevelopment plan, the Design Architect tried to study the layout and composition and the façade design of the tower part. This paper summarized the surveys, judgment factors, and responses conducted for that purpose. © 2023 Authors. All rights reserved.
