摘要
The objective of the present contribution has been to evaluate the chemical damage along latent tracks in PADC irradiated with 2.3, 80, 130, and 420 MeV/u Xe ions. For this purpose, a FT-IR spectrometry was used. Greater G values were obtained for higher energy, concordant with the previous results for H, He, C, Ar, Kr and Fe ions. Since the ethers and carbonate esters in PADC have high sensitivity to radiation to electrons with higher energy for heavy ions, the corresponding secondary electron track structure extends radially and results in higher damage per unit deposited energy. The experiments were confirmed with empirical equations of the effective track core radii, derived for each functional group in the form of an exponential function of the stopping power.
