摘要
This study sought to verify the positive and/or negative impacts of the arrival of international business, especially related to tourism, in urban areas and its possible effects to the quality of life and tourist visitation in the city, seeking to observe if these impacts leads to the residents' unwillingness to receive new companies and tourists, which compromises hospitality in the destination, understood as all acts of human relationship between those who are part of a community with those who comes from outside, based on the principles of ethics and good-customs (CAMARGO, 2004). This qualitative and exploratory study considered the collection of articles previously published and indexed in the Scopus database for the development of theoretical reflection. After the search of keywords based on the research theme, 10 articles were collected ensuring geographic and temporal amplitude to comprehend positives and/or negatives impacts of international business arrival in urban areas. At the end, was observed that there are several opportunities for tourism growth with the arrival of international companies and networks, but city-business relations should be regulated and supervised by all stakeholders involved, to avoid excesses or greater impacts to the cities and the host.
