Science or Aesthetics? Wittgenstein and the linguistic implications of Freudian psychoanalysis

The aim of this article is to present L. Wittgenstein's criticism and analysis towards S. Freud's psychoanalytic thoughts. Wittgensteinian procedure is linked to an ordinary method in the Austrian philosophy which is the analysis and criticism to language. According to Wittgenstein, Freud, in the development of his psychoanalytic method, had made some commonplace linguistic mistakes which are directly related to confusion of terms in his theory. This article will display misinterpretations regarding terms such as cause and reasons. According to Wittgenstein, it was because of the poor understanding of the use of such terms that Freud had built aesthetics instead of building science.
