摘要
Laser intracavity absorption has been afflicted by the appearance of highly complex lineshapes, which seriously limit the applicability of this sensitive spectroscopic technique. We demonstrate these lineshapes to emerge from the interplay of linear absorber dispersion and resonator diffraction. They can be avoided by tuning the resonator to a relative minimum of its diffraction loss.
