摘要
Biodiversity is one of the main properties of nature and its resources get the attention of the States, which have demonstrated certain concern about the sustainable use of their environmental patrimonies and, consequently, about their protection and surveillance. It was and still is the topic of many global Conferences and Conventions, which, besides providing countries the knowledge and reflection about the world's biological diversity situation, also established agreements and regulations among nations in order to reduce the loss of this natural richness. Therefore, the International Environment Law emerged trough international cooperation in order to contribute to a more appropriate usage of environmental resources, thus encouraging the preservation and sustainability of biodiversity on a global scale. This article is about the existence of such cooperation between Brazil and Canada on global environmental issues. Moreover it will focus on the strategies developed by both States to fulfill the agreement adopted at the Convention on Biological Diversity, signed by both in 1992, in Rio de Janeiro.
