摘要
We evaluate the influence of optical pumping and detection rates in optically pumped-detected cesium beam frequency standards. We show that the precision of these clocks depends on the pumping and detection interaction times. Slow pumping conditions as well as detection on cycling transition reduce frequency shifts associated with second-order Doppler effect and cavity phase asymmetry. Fluctuation pumping conditions may result in long-term frequency fluctuations.
